New York · Attorney · Actor

Sanjana Saxena.

Law, storytelling, and a life on stage.

I have spent the last ten years moving between courtrooms, deal rooms, and rehearsal rooms - and this is the page where all three finally sit in the same light.

About

Two professions, one way of paying attention.

I trained as a lawyer, and I keep training as an actor. People assume those are different muscles. They aren’t.

From Mumbai’s deal rooms to New York’s courtrooms, I’ve had a front-row seat to two very different sides of the law - and discovered that both have a lot to do with people, persuasion, and knowing which battles are worth fighting.

My journey began in India, where I learned the ropes as a transactional attorney at one of the country’s leading law firms, and picking up as much about people, ambition, and navigating uncertainty as I did about the law. Then, somewhere between curiosity and a willingness to take a chance, I packed up my life and moved across continents to New York. What began as a leap into the unfamiliar became a chance to see the world, my work, and myself through an entirely different lens.

The other version happens after hours: Meisner classes in New York, directing and acting in the NYU Law Musical. Different stages, same instincts: listen closely, stay present, and know when to speak.

For now, I’m on the lookout for my next career move. Curious where I’ll land? Stay tuned.
